Lieben heisst Leben

About me

My name is Stephan,
my spiritual one Neshant.

Neshant means sunrise or new beginning.

A sunrise does not happen all at once. First it slowly grows lighter. Contours come back. Bit by bit, what lay in the dark becomes visible. Warmth spreads, and something in me grows lighter too.

That is how I lived my own great new beginnings, and how I still live them. Not as a single step, but as a passage. A life can begin again more than once. Sometimes because I choose it. Sometimes because what carried me so far no longer holds. And sometimes life simply decides.

I work as a bodyworker, a tantra massage practitioner and teacher, a yoga teacher and a facilitator. These words say what I do. They do not answer who I am.

My path

My body knew many things
long before I did

When I look back today, I do not see a straight line.

I see a body that had to stay in motion for a long time so that it would not come to rest. A man who had learned early to perform and to be strong, but who hardly knew what grief, fear or vulnerability feel like.

I also see that none of it was for nothing.

Sport gave me something to hold on to. Dance opened something I had held back for a long time. Yoga brought me closer to myself. Tantra led me into a kind of encounter in which I could no longer experience myself only through performance and control.

My path was not about becoming a different person. More and more, it was about no longer running from what was already in me.

The seed

How it began

When tantra first reached me consciously at the age of twenty, through a presentation I gave for my apprenticeship exam, my path was quietly beginning to take shape. That presentation planted a seed in me, one I carried with me and kept feeding. Looking back years later, I saw that I had gone on living the essence of that talk, moving towards the subject partly knowingly and partly without knowing it.

Held back by fear and shame, the direct road was not open to me then, so at twenty-eight I turned to yoga. My first yoga teacher taught in a tantric way, without my having a word for it. It resonated in me and woke something that had been quiet for a long time.

Then came the detour back: self-optimisation, performance, and in the end a burnout and a depression. It felt like a cocoon in which something had to dissolve before it could put itself together again. I could not look away any longer. In 2020 that became a turning point, and from there the road led to tantra without detours.

There I was able to assist, accompany and co-lead spaces over several years, until I carried on along that path as my own. My path and what I offer are in accord with each other, because I lived much of it myself and could grow both with help and out of my own strength.

Who am I?

A question I ask myself
anew every day

And the answer is always a new one. I am searching, searching for what is deepest in me, and I came upon my heart, which is so fascinating. I found that I know little about it, and that is why I dared to set out and explore my heart, to open it and to show it.

If I were to speak of a goal, I would put it like this: I stand there in full devotion with my heart, and in full presence and attentiveness I take in what life wants to show me. Only when my heart is open can love flow. And what is a life without love? What I have come to see is that love gives life its colour and brings light into the dark.

My body is my home. It is not a tool that I use, but the place where I notice what is true, long before I can think it. I take care of it, because otherwise I have nothing.

My essence

My home is in the place
where my heart is

And in the depth of myself I find my heart, which shows me the way like a lighthouse. It is a warm, comforting feeling that widens out from my centre, spreads through my whole system and reaches the people around me. That is how I am present within myself, connected, and in loving relationship with myself and with those around me.

My vision

A place and a space
of natural essence

My vision is to create a place and a space of natural essence, filled with love and with a sense of being held. A place of safety, of family, of friendship and of being together, where everyone may be who they are and where everyone feels arrived and at home. A space in which love is present, grows and heals, and where growing together counts for a great deal.

Lieben heisst Leben, somit liebe das Leben.

Loving means living, so love life.
